Hi Everyone...great to have you visit and this fortnight its Sandy's turn to host the challenge over at
A Vintage Journey, which is " Bountiful Harvest"
As you know we all love the various vintage styles of Tim Holtz and whilst we request that your entries must be in his style you do not have to use Tim Holtz products, but its's great if you do.
Although we don't have Thanksgiving in the UK I love the idea of it and the wonderful decor pieces that you can purchase to decorate your home. The Autumn is a favourite season of mine and going from Halloween to Thanksgiving and then Christmas sounds like a fabulous way of managing our dark dreary winter nights. Spending time with family and friends....mmmmm love it x
Our regular sponsor is Country View Crafts, who offer the Winner a £10 gift voucher to spend in their online store. We also choose three pinworthies too and have badges to display on your blog.
This is my Thanksgiving make:
My original canvas was much larger than this one, however, something went wrong with my centre section..so I had to start again :-(
I took Tim's Doilly stencil, applying texture paste over it. Think this is my new favourite !! I love the details. Once dry I spritzed Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo...the green is Dylusions. A little Treasure Gold and some DI around the edges and this was complete.
The centre panel is from Tim Holtz Wallflower Stash. The edges were torn with Tim's Distressing Tool and Vintage Photo was applied all over as I wanted an aged appearance. The trellis die cut was inked with Rusty Hinge DI
A photo of the various Tim Holtz die cuts that I used.
Close up of the left hand side.......lots of texture and various leaves/berries
