It's Tag Friday @ A Vintage Journey Challenge Blog

Hi everyone xx I hope you are well and staying safe x Today I am sharing a shabby chic tag that I created for AVJ . Whenever there are five Fridays in the month we have a tag Tag Friday post, which followers/visitors can enter x
It has been some time since I heat embossed some stamped images on top of Tim's new distress ink release "Speckled Egg" It's such a lovely soft colour and works well with the white embossing powder that I used. The stamp is one of Tim's and if youwant to know which stamp set just asks as I dont have it to hand right now x
The lace has been in my stash for ages and it was lovely to play with them, laying various pieces until I was happy. The cluster on the bottom are fussy cut digital images and the butterfly is punched using Tim's die, which is a favourite of mine.

There's also time to enter our monthly challenge, "Watercolour Wonders", which Deb is hosting, so why not check it out. There is plenty of inspiration on our blog too and Barbara has provided a wonderful card -making post using Tim Holtz thinlits dies.

Take care and hope to see you there

Happy Crafting xx

It's Tag Friday @ A Vintage Journey Challenge Blog

Welcome everyone and today I am sharing a mixed media tag as its Tag Friday over at A Vintage Journey Challenge Blog. I actually made two of these tags as I was meeting up with  my lovely craft friends Anne Redfern and Tracy Evans. They were both delighted with their gift, especially Tracy, as I had used her A4 stamp, that she personally designed for AALLANDCREATE.
We had the most amazing day together with my mammy and Anne's husband, David, took the most amazing care of us throughout the day x
It has been some time since I created a mixed media project as we had so many anniversaries, birthdays and wedding between June and August and I had such fun making these tags x
The background was made using various acrylic paints and a brayer, then I inked up Tracy's background stamp. I also used some of Abs AALLAND CREATE designs too. The stencil used was by Tim Holtz and I used That's Crafty light texture paste. Tim Holtz jar stamp was inked and then die cut and I stamped Zettiology stamps inside for a fun look. The large images are also by Zettiology and were stamped and fussy cut/coloured using Tim's Distress Markers. The sentiment was a wood mounted stamp I have had in my stash for many years and is one of my favourites. A little wash tape added further dimension.
Thank You so much for visiting as I know how busy everyone is and I do really appreciate comments that are left here on the blog.

Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey

Hi everyone.............I can't believe that tomorrow is the first day of October and before we known it Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night and Christmas will be upon us !!!! OMG I hear you say !!!!

You may also remember that earlier this year I left A Vintage Journey and my lovely crafty buddies, whom I missed so much............the good news............ I am now back with them and I am just so happy and clearly, so is my mojo !!!! YAY !!!!

I don't know if its ever happened to you but I had a craft room clean/clear out over the summer and  once completed every time I went in to create I could not find what I wanted/lost my motivation and Mr Mojo clearly wasn't happy either !!!!

My mojo is clearly easing his way back and today I am joining in with my fabulous AVJ family and their Tag Friday post.
I was inspired by Andy Skinner, whom I saw on HOCHANDA a few weeks ago. I loved his rusting and aged techniques so made a purchase of Quinacridone Gold and Paynes Gray.
I had a few other paints i.e Raw Umber as I had participated in one of Andy's online workshops a few years ago.
Layering the Payne's fray and Quin Gold is fabulous and I shall be trying out more of Andy's techniques as I am a grungy style girl. I also loved the effect of the weathered wood and Antiquing Cream in Titanium White.
Above you can see variations of Andy's new stamps and below some numbers from one of his new stencils
The Livre Apothicaire is also a stamp of Andy Skinners, which I stamped on to tissue paper, splattered some Quinacrodone Red paint, added a spider and some grey  spider webbing type fabric that I picked up in Wilko last year for a pound. The Skeleton was also purchased cheaply in a food superstore too !!!!
Thank You for dropping in and I hope I have inspired you to look out for some of Andy's future shows, products or techniques shared on You Tube.

Meanwhile you can check out the fabulous tags posted by my uber talented buddies over at AVJ by clicking HERE. To view the step by step you can visit their individual blogs by clicking on their names !!!!

Huge Hugs  xxxx
