Tim Holtz Tags of 2014-January

Hi Everyone...............I always love the weekend and especially when I have some crafty time :-)
Today I am sharing my take on Tim's January Tag. Although I did not have all the elements that Tim used I was able to improvise and I am delighted with the result.

You can find Tim's tag and his tutorial by clicking HERE.
Unfortunately I only have the small version of Tim's Sizzix Pocket Die, so I thought I could perhaps alter his Sizzix Alarm Clock die, which you can see below. It was pretty large when placed on the size 8 tag and so I decided to use Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts Pocket Watch
I also used another of Tim's embossing folders :-)
You can see the bottom of my tag and  the distressed  TH Adage Ticket as well as TH stencil's and a stamp from Tim's Stamper's Anonymous Small Things set
At the top of my tag, you can see that I used another of the SA Tiny Things stamp and a Time rub on.
To trim the top of my tag I used some of Tim's Tissue Tape as well as an Idea-ology trinket and key.
The photograph below is of  the centre of my tag before I splattered it with paint.
Thank You so much for taking the time to view and comment on my take on Tim's  January Tag. I know how difficult it can be to manage your own time and I  really do appreciate your visits.
See you Tuesday with my DT make x

Sending you huge crafty hugs xx

Wings & Things

Happy St Patrick's Day ..................the weather is a bit 'dreich' as we say here in Scotland, meaning rather dull, wet  and grey........... That's certainly not the case here in my post !!!!

Like I said yesterday, I have been getting very inky and having lots of fun !!! So I am sharing a piece that I created using a mixture of Tim Hotz stamps from 'Winged Things', Wendy Vecchi's heart stamp from her 'Love to Make Art' set, and Dyan Reavely's stamps from the 'Inbetweenies' range as well as Dylusion sprays  and stencils.
I have lots to learn about journalling ....but thats what the journey is all about!!

After creating my background with the sprays and lots of water I used some of  Dyan's stencils to create some ghosting effects and also a layer of spray through  another stencil. I then stamped around the edges in Archival ink ( it won't bleed if wet) before colouring with  a combination of Distress Markers and Sharpie pens.
I stamped Wendy's heart stamp on to card, cutting it to make the bunting, before spraying with water and Dylusion inks.
The stamped images from Tim and Wendy's range were adhered with Claudine Helmuth's multi-medium in matte.

Lots of spritzing and flicking as well as  Distress Stain splats here and there.

Lots and lots of fun making this piece.................I don't have a journal but its definitely on my wish list.
More crafting today with some visits in between from mu mum, dad and No 1 son.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting. If you have time leave me a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Its always nice to know who has visited.

Bee Happy !!

Hi Everyone......................Just a quick post tonight as I am running around like a headless chicken....again !!  ( Hence the post title !!....nothing to do with the card below x)

This was a quick card I made for a friend's birthday. Various brown Distress Inks were blended on the main card then flicked with water/dried with a heat gun as per Tim Holtz technique. I then stamped the car from WV Studio 490's European Art in sepia Archival ink, colouring with a water colour  dipped in Distress inks.

I used the same blend and flick technique on the torn paper on bottom of card, overstamping with a large rubber stamp from Hero Arts. The letters were cut using Tim Holtz Sizzix Die and blended with Spiced Marmalade and Broken China Distress Inks.

I hope to catch up with you all over the weekend and look forward to viewing your creations.

Take care and 'Thank You' for dropping in, it means so much.

Alter It

Good Morning everyone. Hope you are all well and enjoying your crafty time.

I have had these foil trays for ages and thought I would 'Re-Invent' them for this challenge. I used alcohol inks to colour the foil, however, getting in to the corners was difficult so I thought I would try the Paper Transformation Technique, inspired by Neil Walker of Neelz Expressionz ( click here for the tutorial) Its hard to believe that this was once just plain old copy paper !

For my 'plastic existence' I cut out a piece of plastic from a milk carton, putting it through my die cut machine, and you can see the flowers below. I used inks on the flowers but then decided to use  Ranger Glue 'n' Seal, followed by a variety of  Adirondack paint dabbers, followed by Distress crackle pain in Rock Candy.  ( I was also changing the colour of a metal chain for another project )
As you can see I used a variety of stamps designed by  Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi & Lynne Perella.

The large sentiment on the top piece  was designed by Chris Stern of CS Designs. I received this digital sentiment having been featured in the  Recycle, Re-Purpose & Re-Invent April Challenge . You should pop over to Chris's online store and view  her designs for yourself.  The images and sentiments are beautiful.
( As a new blogger I was thrilled to bits to be featured !!)
I adhered some burlap around the large foil tray and added the Sizzix, TH, Word Play die cut letters, which are rusted, using rusting powder/acrylic wax from Crafty Notions. ( you also add white vinegar to the mix )
On the bottom foiled tray I adhered  some vintage lace. The trays were then pieced together using some string.

Hope you like this piece, which I had great fun creating.
I am  also  going to submit this creation to  the challenges at Inspire me Fridays- Always Anything Goes and Scrapalicious- Something Altered .

Crafty Hugs as always and have a good weekend

                                                                         Annie  :)

French Fancy !!!

Hi Everyone. Been having a problem with this post and my most recent one. Must have done something wrong......sorry if you visited and could not see images.

This is a piece I made to enter Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge - Studio 490 and The Artistic Stamper challenge- Ribbons and Lace.

I used the TH Postcard folder, which I embossed and then distressed with tumbled glass and Vintage photo. I then added lace all around.  The images are from WV Studio 490 range - Art rules and European Art. I stamped them and cut them out. They were also inked with various distress inks. I addedd some  chipbaord letters and a couple of flowers to complete the centre piece.  I placed the finished item on  brown card, placing some embossed corners on it just to add some detail.

I really enjoyed creating this piece. Hope you like it too.

Many thanks for visiting and viewing my posts.

Happy Crafting............Annie x
