Another fortnight and its time for the next challenge over at the Craft Room. Zoe is our host and here is what she has to say;
"Interesting times here in the Craft-Room, we appreciate all of you who have read our revised rules visiting your blogs and seeing the creations we have helped inspire makes the challenge so much fun for us. Wonder what you will make of this one.
The seasons are changing it is now that colourful time of Spring (Southern hemisphere) and Autumn north of the equator. Time then for a little seasonal colour.
Pick you pallet and go where it leads you but please stay with the pallet and do not introduce lots of other colours."
Our sponsor this fortnight is Rogue Redhead Designs
Here is my DT make and you can see that I went for the Autumn colour palette
For this I took the Tim Holtz Postage Stamp Bigz die and cut out the whole shape, which I placed in an embossing folder and ran through my Bigshot. I then cut out several more of the PS dies, but this time only cut the frames. Distress Embossing Powders in Vintage Photo, Rust and Verdigris were applied to the frames and I just love the effect that they have, as well as the amazing texture.
For the background I used two of Ranger's Dylusion sprays in Green and Orange, spritzing with water dilute the colour slightly. I then applied Black soot Distress Ink very lightly over the top of the raised areas, finally applying some Treasured Gold wax in Renaissance.
The Butterflies are Tim Holtz new stamp and die cut set, which I love.
The butterflies were coloured with Distress Markers and then spritzed with water to aid blending. The edges were then inked with Walnut Stain and Black Soot Distress Inks
The gorgeous mini fruits and pine cone were purchased from Calico Crafts, who have an amazing selection
