Hi Everyone.......Hope you have had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend.................Today is 'Tag Friday' at A Vintage Journey ( AVJ) blog. As last Friday was the launch of our very first fornightly challenge theme we decided to have a Tag Friday post. In future this will be our Challenge Winner's post. My lovely DT sisters have created some fabulous tags/techniques to share with you so do drop by ..............it's definitely worthwhile x
Below is my project, using a Ranger Inkessentials size 8 Manila Tag.
I received my copy of Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3 a couple of weeks ago. It is totally amazing, with lots of wonderful ideas, techniques, products and a gallery of inspiration.
On page 44 of the CC3 book you will find Tim's Eroded Metallic technique, which I decided to try. You will find that Tim has provided photographs and step by step instructions for you to follow, with details of products required.
This technique is amazing and I apologise for the photograph, which I took in my craft room. The artificial light does not do this background justice.
As usual, I was not sure where I was going with my tag but decided to colour some textured paste with Distress Paint, mixing it thoroughly before applying through Tim Holtz Bubble, School House and Dot Fade Stencils. ( it's not the best photograph :-( but you get the idea :-)
I decided that the Mowed Lawn Distress Paint required to be a bit more vintage in its appearance, so I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the stencilled areas and obtained the look I was after.
To embellish I tore some TH Paper, applied Distress Ink to age it and then adhered some metal Idea-ology pieces, some of the New TH Ephemera and Alpha Tiles.
There is still time to enter our 'Anything Tim' Challenge over at A Vintage Journey blog so check out the Travelling Instructions and then have fun. The winner is chosen by the DT and receives a £10 gift voucher from our regular sponsor Country View Crafts.....looking forward to viewing your project there x
