Halloween of 2012

Hi Everyone..................hope you have all had a lovely weekend. I have had a fabulous crafty time. Yesterday I had a lovely craft day with my mum and good friend Margaret. I am encouraging Margaret to join Blogland as her crafty makes are amazing and she would love to participate in meeting fellow crafters and viewing inspirational pieces across the globe.

Here in Scotland we celebrate Halloween but its not as commercial as in the USA. I did send Halloween Cards when my family were small but have not made any cards for years. My stash is therefore very low in Halloween stamps/papers etc. As you know I love to participate in Tim's 12 Tags of 2012 so I really had to think outside the box and improvise on my October Tag.

To view Tim's techniques and October tag click HERE

You will see above that I did not have the Sizzix die used by Tim, however, I used the letter B from a Spellbinder set and the O's from Sizzix Typepad Die. I used Tim's technique as shown on his blog. I used an eggplant alcohol ink to colour my glitter.

I took my only Halloween stamp, which is a House Mouse one and altered it using the head and wings from one of Tim's stamps. I coloured the hat in with a black Sharpie pen and made a witches hat using a piece of black card. I used glossy accents on the pumpkin body and hat.

This is the front of my two tags. I used old book pages and instead of placing the  acrylic paint  dabbers on the tag and using a baby wipe I smooshed  the paint on my heat mat. The baby wipe and the paint dabbers is a great technique.
You can see that I also used the hardware findings die, which enabled me to secure one tag on top of the other. I cut the tag in half in a zig zag fashion. Distressing all edges in Black Soot DI.
The October calendar is from Tim's Salvage Stickers.

This is a full view of the inside of my project, which I was delighted with. To hide the hardware I typed some Halloween jokes on my pc and printed them on to paper, which is again slightly distressed. I used picket fence Distress Stain on some netting to create a background that resembled the night sky and clouds.

Another image of my altered stamps and below are the jokes

I had such a fantastic time making this Halloween project and I hope you like it too.
Over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge the Theme for this fortnight is Halloween. I love to participate in this challenge and will be submitting this project. The designs by the FSC DT are amazing and you should pop over and join in.
Happy Halloween and have fun xx

  10. Hahahahaha..."Which witch is witch"...that's terrific!! I'm all tongue tied now, but what a laugh! Annie, we in the US should take tips from you. I'm so impressed with what you've created with a "limited" supply of Halloween items. This is beyond creative and your imagination and creativity comes bursting through again! I absolutely adore what you've created here. Very inspiring and the vintage appeal is PERFECT! Such a nice job. :) Thank you also for the link to design my blog. :D I did go check her out!
    Hugs to you,
    Lisa xx
