Over the Moon !!

Hello everyone..........where has the last week gone...........can't believe its Saturday once again !!

For those of you who follow me  you will have read that I am starting to alter a book.......its certainly something that will take time so today I thought I would make a quick tag for the lovely Linda Ledbetter's challenge over at  Studio L3. This week the challenge is to create a project using  Lord Tim of Holtz  technique as detailed in page 45 of  Compendium of Curiosities Volume 11- Blended Stains.

I decided to use 2 tags for my project and the  ink stains colours used are Warm Honey, Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo ( my favourite)

You can now see why I used 2 tags !  I wanted to create an aperture for the face/sun/moon I had made using my melting pot/embossing powders and Utee Flex.

I scored the tag diagonally with my craft knife and inked the  area on the back of the tag with Tumbled Glass DI. I then took a crochet hook and rolled back all four tips, finally rolling them tighter with my fingers. I did not secure the turned back edges but you could if you wanted.  I found the dragonfly in my stash and altered the metal using alcohol ink in cranberry,  cogs were also added to the corners.

I had some Kraft Glassine papers, which I had previously scrunched and inked with DI and decided  die cut using Sizzix Th Heart Wings, adding them to the face/moon as a central piece.

Some ribbon was scrunched and smooshed in tumbled glass DI that was spritzed with water and dried with my heat tool.

The tag's were then stuck together and distressed around the edge with my paper distresser,  walnut stain DI gave definition to the edges.

Finally one of Tim's  metal charms was added to the bottom of the piece and reads 'Embrace Imperfection'. I certainly had a few 'happy accidents' when playing today......but the most important thing is that I had fun, which is very important.

After I had taken photographs I  wished that I had made a couple of splats with Distress Stains on this tag to add further interest............just may do that tomorrow!!

Off to see Hope Springs tonight at the movies with DH.......Love Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep....so should be fun.

Have a great weekend and if you drop by please leave a comment and I shall return the compliment. xx

I am also entering this tag in to the challenges over at Delicious Doodles, where the challenge is 'Harvest Moon'. The face looks like a moon and the colours are certainly suitable for harvest.
