Its been a rather wet 'n' very windy few days here in South West Scotland, due to Hurricane Bertha, who decided to drop in. Apparently she had options to go south but decided to visit the UK !!!
Mind you my lovely blog friend Terry would love to have cooler temperatures and rain as she lives in CA and its very very hot right now.
Recently I decided to make a little gift for my mum and my sister, who are very talented crafty people.
I had been saving some glass jars to try out Tim's Faux Cracked Glass technique and as they both love to sew, I thought they would be perfect to store some of their treasured buttons.
You can find Tim's Faux Glass technique on page 54 of his CC3 book. ( If you don't own Tim's CC3 book you can make a purchase HERE and he will personally sign it for you too :-)
I also used Tim's Eclectic Elements fabric on the lid and then trimmed with lace from my stash. The appearance of the thread showing on the buttons, which were adhered on top, added to the vintage feel. The beautiful lace on the actual jar was a gift from my lovely crafty friend Lynne Moncrieff of Adorn, whose blog is well worth a visit. ( You can click on Adorn to go to Lynne's blog) Some twine and some Idea-ology pieces finished the look.
Thank You for taking the time to visit, its always a pleasure to read your comments and to return the compliment. I am always inspired by all the wonderful creations made by my crafty friends.
Take care and crafty hugs
xxxx
