Hi everyone......thank you for dropping by x Its so nice to have you here in my little craft corner of Blog Land x
Today I am sharing my All Aboard project as its the 3rd Anniversary over at AVJ. We also have some new creative guides to introduce to you and numerous projects to inspire you.
Our Sponsor this month Is Country View Crafts who are offering a £20 gif voucher to spend at their online store to our randomly chosen winner.
I have altered a Jack Daniel's Bottle, using Decoart Chalk Paint, Decoart Varnish as well as napkins, Tim Holtz Stamps, Butterflies and Distress Inks. ( plus some items from my stash)
Below you can see how I inked a word stamp and sentiment stamp on to tissue paper (Archival Jet Black ink) and then adhered them to the bottle with glue medium. The hessian was adhered with Tacky Glue. The bottle top can be removed to enable flowers to be placed inside if required.
The sentiment is one of my favourites and it is so true. Hope you have time to join in with our "Celebrations" we just love to have you on board and there's always a prizewinner and pinworthy badges, with a chance to join in with us as a Creative Guide on the AVJ blog.

Take care and best wishes xx
Fabulous work. It really is amazing to see the things that can be given a new life with just some thought and paint. The colours are gorgeous too. Have a Good Day. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteA fabulous upcycling of a JD bottle (You have great taste) Such a lovely base colour for your sentiment and word stamp to stand proud and such a great way to use napkins. Love that its usable too .
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing as the JD bottle is empty you began the birthday celebrations early lol . Happy AVJ Annie x
What a great altered bottle to celebrate with (is there something good to drink inside?!)... I love the animals (they remind me of Thelwell's drawings), and the word sticks look so cool. Lovely butterflies adding dimension and movement too - a treat.

I love your celebratory bottle Annie (now I know you say it can hold flowers but have you thought about a little tipple instead lol?) Woops I've just seen Alison had the same idea - anyway thanks for sharing the journey with us all at AVJ, it's fabulous having you and your wonderful projects aboard as a Creative Guide (I'm sooo glad you were able to come back). have a good weekend and don't work too hard....... huge hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteAnnie, this altered bottle is just amazing! I have never tried doing this, but love your gorgeous result and am inspired! The image is just too fun and I love your clever choice of embellishments. Hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteI would never have guessed the bottles former life, what a transformation. Love your celebratory bottle and the neck of,the bottle is gorgeous . Love the butterflies and they are coloured beautifully. They add a delicacy to the whole design. Have a lovely weekend. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteWow Annie, this is a beautiful way to recycle that JD bottle, I love the gorgeous base colour, those animals are just delightful - such characters! The butterflies are a wonderful touch and I love that sentiment too! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful bottle Annie, both sides look fantastic! I love the animal side, it has a real Scottish flavour to it,a little dram wouldn't go amiss in there lol. The words and butterflies are lovely too, just perfect for the theme and it's great it can actually be used for flowers!
ReplyDeleteIts a fabulous alteration and I love the animal images you used as well as the great quote.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx
What a great repurpose of your bottle Annie - love those fun animals and your pretty butterflies - the chain is the perfect way to attach the sentiments! A lovely project to celebrate AVJ's 3rd year! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteAh this made me smile! A great idea and superbly created. I love those animals! Nikki xx
ReplyDeleteAs Nikki said, this really made me smile, too! The little group of animals on the front makes me wonder who is who! Ha! Ha! Great way to celebrate 3 years, Annie-such an inspiring fun project! I have a couple of empty bottles I keep threatening to alter, and this may have been just the inspiration I needed! I had to laugh about this starting as a Jack bottle, which is a long standing joke my family has teased me with. Apparently, I have a bottle of JD in my Closet, which is the real reason I go in there--not to actually MAKE anything! Ha! Ha! (I don't drink the stuff, actually.) Thanks for your inspiration and for really making my day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is so cool! Love your JD altered bottle!
ReplyDeleteOh Annie this makes me smile - I love it to pieces! Brilliant! Hugs rachel x
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun Annie, I adore those wonderful critters on your altered bottle (is that a Scottish flag hanging from the deer's horns?!)! What an amazing transformation, thanks so much for sharing it, Deb xo
