Hi everyone...last week my lovely mum and I had a wonderful crafty day with our talented friend Astrid. As always we have crafty chats and share tips/techniques etc. This time we also shared some stamps and dies.
Don't ask me why but I set us a challenge to create something using the dies we cut with a deadline of today!!! Now why did I do that !!!! I totally forgot I had a project to make for the Friday, I was then working 12 hour shifts over the weekend, had another project to make and a few personal matters to attend to............but anyway I could not opt out now !!!!
So here by the seat of my pants is my project..........my first Christmas card of the year !!!!
Above you can see the finished card with stencils. dies, stamps, distress inks etc.
I started off by applying gesso to a card and then some texture paste through a TH bubble stencil
The die cut world map was inked with Vintage Photo and Black Soot distress Inks. Similarly the word PEACE was inked with Festive Berries and edged with Black Soot DI. The black around the edge really defines it. I now have these dies as I can see me making great use of them xx
The die cut holly and Ivy leaves are by Sheena Douglas and are totally fabulous. Having watched Sheena on a craft channel show (There are also matching stamps, which are essential) I knew I just had to purchase these dies and stamps as they will be perfect for this years Christmas cards. The ivy can also be used anytime. Again, I edged the leaves with Vintage Photo DI and Black Soot then applied Mowed Lawn, which really added the depth of green that I hoped to achieve. (See below)
I also added a little Stickles glitter using my finger, which you can just see if you look closely xx
So................I made the challenge just in time. YAY !!!!You can view mum and Astrid's makes by clicking on their names.............RITA.............ASTRID
Thank You for dropping in.....It is really appreciated and I love it even more when you leave a comment, enabling me to get back to you.
Take Care and Huge hugs
