It's Special Numbers @ A Vintage Journey

Hi Everyone.............It's time to hop on board A Vintage Journey once again and this fortnight our challenge theme is Special Numbers.

see challenge details below :

"So many of Tim Holtz products have numbers, Papers, Stamps, Rub ons, Stencils and Idea-ology to name a few
Incorporate your significant numbers it could be Birthdays, Age, Anniversary or the Lucky ones!
Use them on any project you wish and if possible explain the importance; we would like to see a vintage theme using Tim’s techniques and products where possible"

As always, there is a chance to win a voucher from Country View Crafts, who are our regular sponsor and Blog Badges for our Pinworthies ( Top 3) All you have to do is follow the challenge description and rules, which are available on the side bar of the AVJ Blog :-)

Here is my take on this great challenge:

I made an 8 by 8 card, incorporating Tim Holtz ( TH) Kraft CO'Ordinations,
TH embossing folder, TH Wallpaper Flower Stash, TH Idea-Ology numbers and metal tag, scraps of torn papers from TH's Found Relatives, Ephemera and of course Distress Ink.

I also used TH's scissors, sanding and distressing tools as well as a Ranger heat mat.

The background is Tim's Kraft Core, 12 by 12 paper stash, which I ran through my embossing machine at various angles until it was fully embossed. I then sanded the top, wiping it with a dry cloth and I love the reveal. The edges were distressed using Tim's distressing tool from Tonic. Walnut Stain Distress Ink was applied to the edges. Love that grungy, vintage feel.

The gentleman from the Wallflower Paper Stash was also edged with Tim's paper distressed and then inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The zip was adhered with Ranger Glossy Accents and the tartan ribbon was attached using Tim's Tiny Attacher. A piece of torn book page and, following my lovely crafty friend Brenda Brown's tip, I took the back of one of my Found Relatives scrap pieces, which was left over from my last project. It separated very easily and is quite effective...don't you think?

More numbers above, which were cut from the same paper stash as the lovely gent. The Idea-Ology tag and the metal number 6, top right, just complete the look I wanted to achieve for this very masculine card.

And there's more.!!!...........next month we celebrate our first anniversary and there are some changes taking place in that we will become a monthly challenge, have a random org winner with an increase in the wining prize to £20, which you can spend at Country View Crafts online store. There will also be weekly step by step posts relating to various products.....so lots to check out at the A Vintage Journey blog in March.

Huge thanks to the many fabulous entries we received for my Tic Tac Toe Challenge...............the winner will be announced soon and its definitely going to be a hard decision !!
