12 Tags of 2012 - September

Hi Everyone ..........I finally finished my September Tag with lots of time to spare !!!  It reallly isn't like me at all !!    Don't know why but I am finding it difficult to organise my time these days..............blaming my return from holidays rather than my age !!

Think this is my favourite tag so far, though I loved the haberdashery tag too !
This faux riveted  metal technique is amazing.  As well as finding the tutorial on  Tim's Blog, instructions can also be found in  his book, Compendium of Curiosites Vol 11.

You can find Tim's tutorial by clicking HERE.  Everyone is welcome to  take part in the
'12 Tags of 2012', which is great fun.

I did not have to improvise too much this month, mainly the  film strip ribbon. I  stamped the film strip stamp on to acetate with archival ink and distressed with vintage photo, then cut it out.

With regard to the typewriter I did not have black paint dabber so i just used  a few layers of black soot distress ink, drying  each layer  with my heat tool.  Instead of using the mini stamp I used a piece of Tim's lost and found papers. It was inked  with Vintage Photo DI and edges tattered with the paper distresser.

You will note that Tim used steel wool to burnish the alcohol inks/metal foil. I rather liked the appearance of the alcohol inks i used and did not remove as much with my steel wool, namely because I did not have the black AI. ( I used Ginger, Eggplant and Latte alcohol Inks) ( Now on my wish list )

A few items were placed under the foil tape and edged using a paper stump, avoiding damage to the foil, adding further dimension and texture.

As Tim had a T at the top of his tag I placed a previously rusted A from the Sizzix TH Carnivale die strip. Number 5 was cut using the Sizzix TH Wordplay  die and painted with the silver Paint Dabber. The vintage ribbon was coloured using black soot DI on my craft sheet, which I spritzed with water then dried using my heat tool.

Thank you so much to all my followers old and new for  continuing to visit my blog and for leaving such kind comments, they mean so much. I always do my best to return compliments/comments by visiting/joining your blog.

Take Care and Happy Crafting

    Hi Annie
Well this is fabulous with that wonderful rivet effect as the base and I like the various elements, that amazing typewriter and the way you created your own film strip with a stamp and acetate.

  13. Super tag there, looks like you had most of the required elements to hand, and if not all have substituted well. Thanks for your comment and becoming a follower. I don't really do the following thing, never got the hang of it but I do try to visit everyone who visits me iyswim and use bookmarks in my browser too. Thanks again BJ.
