Special Memories Card

Good morning and a very Happy St Patrick's Day to you all. I am pleased to report that the sun is shining here on the West of Scotland. This is a card I made  the other day for a  special person, whom I worked with several years ago. We shared an office together for 4 years and as she is moving to another place of employment I decided to make her a handmade card. I used distress inks on the card itself  ( vintage photo and rusty hinge). The die cut frames and punched butterflies were inked with stormy sky and barn door. It's difficult to view but under the frame I placed a piece of card on which I had blended alcohol inks/metallic alcohol ink, using blending solution to lighten the effect. The card has a really nice shabby vintage feel, which I know she will appreciate.  A couple of sparkling embellishments added to the butterflies complete the look. Today I have some clearing out to do, which I am not at all looking forward to.  Then  I plan to create a special card for 'My Mammy' for Mother's Day, which  in the UK is tomorrow.  I  have an idea in mind for my mammy's card and hope its just as nice when finished. I shall post it on the blog late Sunday as I don't want to spoil the surprise!!

Happy Crafting  and thank you for viewing  x

  2. Hi Annie, your card is beautiful, love the subtle colours and anything that has a butterfly on it floats my boat. I think your friend will love it.
