Vintage Travel & Luggage at AVJ

Wishing you all the very best for New Year 2016 xx

It's hard to believe that it's time for a new challenge over at A Vintage JourneyOur host is the uber talented Brenda Brown, who has chosen the theme of "Vintage Travel and Luggage"

See below for Brenda's challenge details:
Let your imagination carry you back to the bygone eras, setting off on an exciting journey for the New Year. Keeping it in Tim's style, we would love to see what item of luggage or mode of transport you would use on your journey, eg - think hand luggage, travel trunks, hat boxes, hot air balloons, ships and trains.

And here is my project, which is an 8"x8" easel card made for a 60th celebration.

I have used two background papers, which were distressed around the edges, then  inked and layered on to the easel card.
Everything, with the exception of the  Penny Farthing bike, which is a Marianne die, is stamped using a variety of Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Stamp Sets.
One of the background stamps from Tim's Parisienne set was stamped on to vellum, the edges torn and inked for a real vintage feel.
The stamps were coloured using  Distress Inks or Distress Markers as a watercolour. I then played about with the layout until I was satisfied with the outcome.
The word Celebrate was stamped in Versamark Embossing Ink then some gold embossing powder was applied, excess removed, then heat set.
The card was personalised after taking these photographs and the recipient absolutely loved it !!!
We look forward to viewing your fabulous entries and remember there is always a randomly drawn prize of £20 to spend at Country View Crafts, who have an amazing stock of Tim Holtz products, with free postage for those resident in the UK.
As you can see below Brenda is taking another fabulous workshop on the 14th January.
The workshop details can be found at Country View Crafts and as an added bonus if you book a workshop you also get 10% off any products you buy on that day or the day after......really worth considering as Susan's prices are always competitive !!!!
For more inspiration please click HERE, where you will be transported to the AVJ challenge blog. As always my marvellous roomies have created some amazing  projects for Brenda's challenge theme......I am certainly inspired and I am sure you will be too !!!
Have fun !!
