Steampunk Mix

Hi Everyone..........a huge 'Thank You' to followers old and new. Its lovely to read comments you leave and inspires me when I return the compliment and view your own fabulous creations.

Below is a card that I made for my Dad's recent birthday. First of all I stamped the card using Stampers Anonymous TH Mixed Media stamps, which I love. I then blended the card with various brown DI's. The pocket to hold the tag was  die cut from Spellbinders Donna Salazar's Creative Book Pages 2, which was blended with more brown DI's and edged with Rusty Hinge. Having found Tim Holtz Distressables Book I cut out the letter D from one of the Distressable Papers, adhering it to cardboard. Once dry I blended it with DI's then covered in embossing ink/clear embossing powder. ( I  clear embossed as I did not have any of the memory glass that Tim uses in the book )  On the front page I used two of Wendy Vecchi's stamps from the European Art range using the masking technique.   I also used the masking technique on the last page you can see, using various stamps from Sam Poole of Creative Studio's Vintage Inventor Set.

The tag was stamped and blended with DI's too and an Idea-ology tag attached. The envelope was made from  some Basic Grey papers  I have in my stash.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Thank you for dropping in......hope to see you again soon.

  2. Hi Annie. In answer to your question on my blog, my job title is a bit long and complicated but it means I don't get a six week break (boo) but I will get some time off in August (hurrah!) and we may even get to go somewhere (woo hoo!!!).
Still, it's going to be sunny soon, as the jetstream is moving (we're told) and then it'll feel summery anyway:) Hugs, Buttons x

  29. What a great card! Steampunk was what first drew me to this crafting lark, and I got a bit side-tracked with the pretty Shabby Chic world (though I do now love that too!)... must build that side of the stash now - this is really funky, and I love how it reveals itself as you unfold...
Thanks so much for your lovely comment over at Words and Pictures - I'm so grateful for all the supportive feedback and followers!

  30. Hi Annie, thanks for your visit earlier, I think Hels lives around my way somewhere so she may be up for a Manchester get together some time, I definitely think it would be worth putting to her. Did you know that most of the Pick of the Week has sold out so it is fingers crossed to see if they will go ahead with more shows - I hope they do but C&C can be a bit unpredictable in these circumstances. Crafty hugs, Anne xx

PS - glad your Mum got off OK and hope she has a good relaxing holiday after all her recent hard work.
