Hi Everyone. What a fabulous 4 days it has been in Britain, celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. I felt so sorry for the Queen when it was announced that Prince Philip was taken to hospital as they go everywhere together. What a concert last night at Buckingham Palace. Tom Jones was exceptional and his vocal was certainly the best. Some of the artists just couldn't sing (If I say 'dope' you will know who I mean !!)
Anyway, how true is the saying on this tag !!. I just don't seem to have enough time these days and I am sure the last 60 years of the Queen's reign have flown in.
I am spending lots of time using the 'rusting technique' using Crafty Notions acrylic wax and rusting powder. The small alarm clock is one of the new Sizzix TH die cuts, which is available in two sizes. The wings were cut using the Sizzix TH 'Heart Wings' die cut. The letters are also from the Sizzix TH Carnivale die strip.
I used the rusting powder on the letters and wings. The alarm clock was inked in peacock feathers DI and then clear embossed.
I used Th Idea-ology mask ( Time Works) on the background of the tag, think you can just make it out. To ink the tag I used a variety of DI's, namely Tea-dye, Brushed Corduroy, Broken China and Barn Door .
The bunting was made by cutting WV Studio 490 heart stamp, which I stamped using archival ink, blue and red, which I adhered on to some red and white bakers twine. There is also a trinket pin on the ribbon at top of tag.
I am entering this piece in the following challenges:
Thanks for visiting and if you can please leave me a comment and I shall return the compliment.

Perfect use of the heart stamp, now that is GENIUS!! Am with you on the "dope" thing... he does admit that he usually is the songwriter though and has that weirdo voice thingy on his microphone normally... bit strange that Stevie and he said Happy Birthday though... mmm, strange indeedily lol Love your tag, tis F A B! Thanks for joining in with the Sunday Stamper x
ReplyDeleteTerrific tag - love the alarm clock :) Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteAnnie, this is one of those times I could do with a tardis to travel up to Scotland and see this beautiful creation in person. There looks to be so much texture to it, especially those wings.
ReplyDeleteSo agree with you about the singing last night, although I thought Rolf Harris and Kylie did well too.
Hugs, Buttons x
Hi Annie, I love your tag, I made ATCs with that alarm clock, it is brilliant. Love the colours and the bunting is fabulous. Great colours too. I loved Tom Jones and Robbie. Will-i-am was much better with the Black Eyed Peas than he is on his own (I think). Liked Kylie too. Crafty hugs, Anne x
