Like the Circles in My Mind....

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all well and the weather is improving wherever you are. The West of Scotland  is having lovely weather just now and thankfully the temperatures have improved too.
For the card I used Spellbinders Circle frames in two designs, one plain and the other scalloped. I combined the large scalloped die and slightly smaller plane circle to create a frame for my card. I covered the front of the card with a K & CO background paper by Brenda Walton ( also found them in my stash whilst searching for other things),  then placed my stamped/ TH distress inked frame on top.  ( I stamped the frame with Creative Expressions Artsy Floral rubber stamp, which is gorgeous and I must use more often............note to self !)

As I began to rummage in my cupboard I found a rubber stamp that was one of  my first  purchases, at least 16 years ago, if not more !   I usually gold embossed this image and then coloured it with an ink which twinkled like H20's. ( Just cant remember the name) I coloured in the main stamped image using  Tim's distress markers.  I also used a Sizzix Vintaj  Deco Emboss folder on two other circles, which I inked with  Tim's shaded lilac, spiced marmalade and tea-dye DI's. The butterfly was provided by my mum, who knows I love butterflies. I used eyelets to hold the card together, using paper  raffia to hide the eyelets. I then made a bow and glued it to the card, finishing it off with the smaller deco embossed circle that I cut out and a hat pin from Creative Expressions. The sentiment used on the inside is again  a stamp that I have had forever and was made by Impression Obsession. ( C5045)

Just editing this post as one of my crafty friends has advised that this card meets the  challenge criteria  at Top Tip Tuesday Challenge 77 - Dig Out the Old.   My TOP TIP would be to take away the white edge on anything you cut out or die cut as  it gives a better/more professional finish, especially when layering with foam pads or silicone. On decoupage I usually use a dark pencil or more recently I have been using the TH Distress marker in Weathered Wood to go around the edge. When using distress inks on backgrounds or images  I like to edge with one of the colours used.

Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you again soon.
I love to read your comments so please let me know if you dropped by.

Somewhat freakily I have had that self same stamp image in my mind today. Need to make a card this evening for an extremely sad situation and that one fits the bill perfectly. Let's hope I can put it to use as effectively as you have.
Thanks for sharing as ever, hugs Buttons x
